I haven't seen anything that expresses the pure, unadulterated (pun intended) joy of the drum & the rhythms we love better than these video clips.......

Re: 4-yr-old djembe prodigy
Tue, June 27, 2006 - 11:09 AMI used to play with the boys father, Jeremy Chevrier here in San Francisco about 10 years ago. Jeremy was a really talented player even back then and his passion and excitement for the djembe and all things West African was infectious. It is exciting to see that passion and talent being passed on.
I tried to reconnect w/ Jeremy via YouTube and was given a heads up by his friend/partner about their online store: www.malidirect.com. It sounds like they are very supportive of the local community.

i feel so inspired to play after watching that little kid shred it like that! Maybe being more childlike in my intrepretation of the world around me will help me learn to solo better!
thanks for the inspiration!

Re: 4-yr-old djembe prodigy
Fri, June 30, 2006 - 4:00 PMi think it just goes to show you that we all have internal rhythm, and if embraced and encouraged at an early age, we really can do anything. it takes support of those around us, an nurturing environment, lots of love and also good, no, great teachers. unfortunately, many of us, even with loving families, aren't able to embrace our internal talents from a young age...
plus, he's amazing and cute and wonderful!!
